Come join us in the magic workshop, where the bottles with colored contents in golden hues, are lined up behind the bar, and where the master stirs and shakes, like the most natural thing in the world. How does one really know which cocktails to stir and which ones to shake? And is it really true that the glass has a purpose or that Gin & Tonic is an artform? Step into a world seething with fizzes and sours. Cocktail Masterclass

Copenhagen Distillery has a dedicated and nerdy staff, and we celebrate this with a series of top specialist cocktail masterclasses. So hurry to buy a ticket, the groups are small and the level will be towering. Each month, one of our expert bartenders will select an exciting theme and present recipes, techniques and, not least, heist stories that unfold a very specific corner of the cocktail universe. There will be plenty to learn for both the all-green home bartenders and all those who think they already know it all. This October, we spotlight the complicated and sometimes opaque relationships that define and separate Fizz, Collins and Sour cocktails. Bartender and whisky maker Niki Fribert Lauridsen takes us by the hand and guides. What exactly are the differences? Where do the different drinks actually come from? And how do you make the right foam on your whiskey sour? That and much more will be answered while, of course, we also review the very basic techniques and principles that apply to cocktails in general. In November, our Assistant Bar Manager Jasmin Liljudottir is focusing on hot drinks. It's cold and dark, and the world is full of hot cocktails. Mulled wine, vin chaud, mulled wine, glüh wein, hot punches and toddies, to name just a few. But how do you manage to make a good Gløgg? Why does it heat up? Copenhagen Distillery has won “most innovative” at DM in Gløgg three times, so of course we also need to get a bit avant garde. The December course is all about Martinis in the company of our development manager and cocktail book author Sune Urth. New Year is around the corner and what's more festive than a Dry Martini. Join the workshop as we dive into the history of the martini. We're going to talk about vermouth, stirring techniques, Zen Buddhism, microcollapses and a little bit about James Bond. It's going to be geeky, it's going to be gin-heavy and it's definitely going to be festive. January becomes a little less gray and gruesome than usual when our bar manager Tobias Larsen points his binoculars at New Orleans. The mythological jazz capital is home to a bevy of amazing cocktails, from la Louisianne and Sazerac to Ramos's Gin Fizz. It's going to be something to do with dusty jazz, heist stories and a lot of whiskey and brandy. After the course, you can continue exploring the different tastes in Copenhagen Distillery's cocktail bar, where you can linger for drinks and cozy get-togethers.

Prepare your taste buds for a challenge with some of Aarla Unika's most unique and experimental cheeses, carefully selected and paired with Copenhagen Distillery's amazing spirits. As a special part of the evening, the tasting also includes an opportunity to experience the distillery's whiskey.

Gin tasting at Copenhagen Distillery

Copenhagen Distillery experiments with taste, design, shape and colour, because it is not only the palate that needs to be entertained, it is also the eyes, ears, nose and hands. Put otherwise; here the whole palette of senses is set in motion. At the distillery, work is constantly being worked on developing new flavours and designing new bottles that can turn the experience of gin, whisky, liqueurs and snaps into new holistic experiences every time the glass is lifted to the mouth. Make your own gin at Copenhagen Distillery

Do you want to try your hand at craft distilling Ever wondered how to make a gin? Wonder no more. In this course, you’ll be taken through the technical ins and outs of craft distilling and the history of gin before trying your hand at distilling your own bottle on your own apparatus. With a welcome drink in hand from Copenhagen Distillery Cocktail Bar, you’ll take a guided tour with one of our distilling experts around the craft distillery. Afterward, you’ll taste a selection of our premium gin, to help you understand the tastes of different botanicals and ingredients. Now you’re all set to distill your own unique spirit, be it a bottle of gin, aquavit, or something completely different. You decide. With an alcohol base in hand, you select your own blend of herbs and spices and distill it on your miniature distillation apparatus - of course with our guidance if wanted. When you are finished with the course, the distillery cocktail bar is open for good talks with curious minds and a drink or two.

Smørrebrød and Aquavit Stories

Welcome to Smørrebrød and Aquavit Stories at Copenhagen Distillery! Prepare for a unique and authentic dining experience right in the heart of Copenhagen. Here in our converted factory building, you can immerse yourself in Denmark's rich food culture and traditions while tasting our aquavit. During this experience, you will be introduced to the world and history of aquavit. Our experienced guides will take you on a journey through the different flavours of Aamann's homemade sandwich, made with care and love with Danish ingredients. At the same time, you will also have the opportunity to taste our selection of aquavits and schnapps, for which Scandinavia is so famous. While you enjoy sandwiches and aquavit accompanied by draught beer from Anarchist and Nørrebro Bryghus, our host will take you back in time and give you an insight into Danish food culture and the stories associated with akvavit. All in all, this experience is a perfect combination of delicious food, exciting stories and an insight into Danes' relationship with akvavit. Whisky tasting at Copenhagen Distillery

The host on the day is one of our very experienced colleagues who have both knowledge and practical experience in the production of our whisky — and whisky in general. Copenhagen Distillery was started as a whisky distillery and in February 2020 the first drops hit the streets and was immediately named Danish Whiskey of The Year in Jim Murray's Whisky Bible. Now they are ready to present the whole family, and what a family. One of the distillery's experienced whisky employees welcomes and shows you around the factory, between copper kettles, fermentation vats and whiskey barrels. After that, you will be benched, and have to taste everything from the completely freshly distilled drops to bottled ready-made whiskies. There will be bread and mouth cleaners along the way so that the taste buds are kept crisp. Subsequently, both bar and shop are open, where there will also be an opportunity to purchase the distillery's whisky's, gins or Aquavits. In addition, it will be possible to buy a taster of Danish Whisky of the Year 2021; our First Edition. But only as long as stock is held.
